The HAKKO 599B does not remove solder as well as the sponge cleaner. What should I do?
The HAKKO 599B can remove oxides and excess solder while it leaves a small amount of solder on the soldering tip. It is the biggest feature of the product since the remaining solder reduces the oxidation of the tip after cleaning. If you want to remove solder thoroughly from the soldering tip regardless, use a sponge type cleaner to clean the tip with a water-moistened sponge.
Don’ t the wires in the cleaner damage soldering tips?
The surface of soldering tip is plated with iron while the wire material is brass. Since iron is harder than brass, cleaning with these wires does not scratch soldering tips.
